Here’s a first look at new ITV2 comedy Action Team which starts Monday 5th March.

The spoof spy action thriller comes from Shiny Button Productions – the team behind hit BBC3 comedy Murder In Succesville.

Tom Davis, Successville’s own DI Sleet, stars in Action Team as suave MI6 agent Logan Mann…

And he also has another role in the series as ridiculous Russian villain Vladimir Schevchenko.

Also on Logan Mann’s MI6 team is skilled but dull sniper Graham Hooper, played by Jim Howick (Stag, Peep Show, Horrible Histories)…

As well as martial arts and bomb expert Monica Lang (Laura Checkley – Detectorists, Cradle to Grave) and Huxley (Kayode Ewumi – #HoodDocumentary, Enterprice) who’s just there on work experience.

Overseeing the team is head of operations Ruth Brooks, played by Vicky McClure (Line of Duty, Broadchurch, This Is England).

And there’s also Ruth’s assistant Ann (Derek Riddell – Hard Sun, The Missing, Undercover, Happy Valley) who may have a secret to hide…

ITV has said that Action Team is “The Naked Gun meets The Bourne Identity” and “fast paced, high concept and crammed with silly jokes.”

Action Team starts on ITV2 with a double bill of episodes on Monday 5th March at 10pm.
