The first trailer has been released for new British comedy film Funny Cow.

Funny Cow charts the rise to stardom of a female comic (played by Maxine Peake) through the 1970s and 1980s, set against the backdrop of working men’s clubs and the stand-up comedy circuit in the North of England.

The cast includes TVO regulars Kevin Eldon, Diane Morgan and Vic Reeves, as well as Alun Armstrong, Stephen Graham, Tony Pitts, Paddy Considine,  Hannah Walters and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Funny Cow will be in cinemas from 20th April.
