Monster Watching
The 2015 comedy horror short The Monster is now available to watch online.

Directed by Bob Pipe, the short stars TVO regular Richard Glover (Sightseers, A Field in England) as an iconic movie monster who falls in love with his leading lady. Also starring Helen George, Simon Cotton and Matt Slack, music is provided by comedy legend turned soundtrack supremo Waen Shepherd (who also scored Murder in Successville and Crackanory) and the whole shebang is produced by Hen & Chickens head-honcho and officially-the-nicest-man-in-comedy, James Wren.
For several years, the short has toured film festivals, but you can now watch the whole thing for free below.
If this classic slice of B-movie hokum is still not enough for you, the main creative team of Pipe, Glover, Shepherd & Wren also previously collaborated on web series The Day They Came to Suck Out Our Brains featuring a whole bevy of Oniony talent for you to savour. You can see the full saga again over yonder.
This has to be the very best short comedy / horror film of all time . I sat through five short films at the first showing of The Monster and it stood out . It’s funny sad scary and shows all sorts of human emotions . If you haven’t seen it go and treat yourself . Everyone involved in this film from the amazing Bob Pipe to the equally amazing Richard Glover Helen George , James Wren give their very best .
