Armando Iannucci is directing a new adaptation of David Copperfield.

The Personal History of David Copperfield will be Armando’s third film as director after In the Loop and The Death of Stalin. He has co-written the script with Simon Blackwell (Back, The Thick of It).

Dev Patel (Lion, Slumdog Millionaire) is set to star in the modern take on Charles Dickens’ novel, which will chronicle the life of its iconic title character as he navigates a chaotic world to find his elusive place within it. The film is due to start production in the UK in June.
