Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are remaking the Sky Atlantic comedy for American network HBO. This will be their first project together since their HBO comedy Girls ended in 2017.
The eight-part series is set to star Jennifer Garner as Kathryn – a role which sounds very similar to the one that Vicki Pepperdine played in the original.
Camping on HBO will tell the story of Walt’s 45th birthday, which was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organised and aggressively controlling wife Kathryn. But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn’s meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman on woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten.
If you haven’t already seen Julia Davis’ Camping, it’s available to watch on Now TV and Sky Box Sets.
