Shining Vale is about a dysfunctional family who move to a house that’s possessed by an evil spirit… but no one seems to notice except for the mother.
It’s described as “a show about mental illness, small town politics, religion and a family battling their demons. But in a really funny and scary way.”
Sharon is writing the pilot with Jeff Astrof (Trial & Error) and she and Clelia Mountford are executive producing via their production company, Merman.
In other news, Sharon has just signed an exclusive two-year deal with Amazon Studios, which means they will have first-look rights to any new shows produced by her and Merman.
Sharon commented: “Amazon is at the forefront of groundbreaking television and Merman is delighted to be part of their remit to create unique content. The team at Amazon have supported us since the inception of Catastrophe and we are thrilled to be working together. Also, all the free books and stuff is great.”
