The latest two episodes of Dan Clark’s Screen Talk feature three guests with links to TVO.
In his Fubar Radio podcast, Dan Clark chats to guests from the big and small screen, asking them about their work and ending each interview by getting them to name a guilty pleasure film or television show.
On episode 43, Matt Holness joins Dan to talk about his new project, Possum – a horror film about a disgraced puppeteer who is struggling to destroy his puppet. He also discusses Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, his transition from comedy to serious horror, his recent role in Channel 4’s Back and more.
On episode 44, Dan’s first guest is Daniel Lawrence Taylor. Apart from reminiscing about Dan’s sitcom How Not To Live Your Life, which had Daniel among its cast, the pair discuss Daniel’s new comedy show Timewasters, about a South London jazz band who accidentally travel back in time to the 1920s. He talks about his inspiration for the show, the significance of its black cast and his experience of working on the script with Barunka O’Shaughnessy. Timewasters is currently airing on ITV2.
Dan’s second guest on episode 44 is Tim Downie and they of course chat about his roles in Toast of London and Upstart Crow. The conversation also covers his early acting career, which included a role on Hollyoaks, his small but memorable role in Paddington and how working with David Jason in The Royal Bodyguard led him to comedy.
