Hang Ups Cast Announced
The cast for Channel 4’s upcoming new comedy Hang Ups has been announced.
Written by Robert Delamere and Stephen Mangan, Hang Ups is a comedy about a therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart.
Stephen Mangan stars as Dr Richard Pitt and TVO favourites Jessica Hynes and Katherine Parkinson are on board. The all-star cast also includes David Tennant, Richard E Grant, Celia Imrie, Karl Theobald, Arsher Ali, Paul Ritter, Charles Dance, Tolu Ogunmefun, Monica Dolan, Sarah Hadland, Conleth Hill, Lolly Adefope, John Macmillan and Harry Lloyd.
Channel 4 has described Hang Ups as “a farcical, dark and perceptive comedy about a man trying to help other people keep their shit together while his own inexorably falls apart. Heavily improvised, each of Richard Pitt’s therapy sessions are startling, unpredictable, discomfiting and hilarious.”
Stephan Mangan says: “People are complex and complicated and they lead messy, knotty lives. We’ve tried to put some of that all-too-familiar turmoil onscreen and the result, I think, is chaotic, glorious and disturbing.”
Filming on Hang Ups has just wrapped and the six-part series is expected to air in 2018.
