Following a pilot episode earlier this year, a full series of Jack & Millie has been commissioned. It stars Rebecca Front and her brother Jeremy Front (also the show’s writer) as Jack and Millie Lemman – an older couple who are fully engaged with contemporary life while being at war with the absurdities of the modern world. The pilot’s cast also included TVO regulars Tracy Ann ObermanHarry Peacock and Rachel Stubbings along with Andy Nyman (Dead Set, Pyschobitches), Jenny Bede (Murder in SuccessvilleCrackanory) and Sue Kelvin (Doctor WhoRed Dwarf).

Returning to BBC Radio 4 for a second series is Couples, Julia Davis and Marc Wootton’s semi-improvised show in which they play a different couple in therapy each week. Julia is a woman who needs no introduction to TVO readers, having created and starred in deliciously dark comedies Human RemainsNighty Night, Hunderby and Camping, while Marc Wootton might be best known to you from his appearances in Drunk History, Inside No. 9 and Psychobitches. Vicki Pepperdine (Camping) co-stars as the couples’ therapist.

Meanwhile Sarah Kendall’s Australian Trilogy, which aired back in February late at night, is returning in the 6.30pm slot.

BBC Radio 4 has a huge range of new shows in the pipeline, with comedians covering all sorts of different topics. See the full list of commissions here.
