Kevin Eldon is performing at a special event to raise money for a memorial for the poet and artist William Blake.

A Wake For Blake will take place at the Leicester Square Theatre on Monday 25th September. As well as Kevin Eldon, the current line-up features Stewart Lee, Simon Munnery, Robin Ince, Alan Moore, Shirley Collins, Dave Arthur, Pete Cooper and The Great British Blake Off.

William Blake – a visionary poet, artist and prophet – lies in an unmarked grave in the City of London. Overlooked, ridiculed and ignored in his lifetime, Blake has since become a great figure in British culture. The exact location of Blake’s resting place was only re-discovered in recent years after detailed research by two trustees of the Blake Society. A Wake For Blake will raise funds towards a fitting marker that will identify Blake’s grave in Bunhill Fields Burial Ground.
