Originally founded in 2000 as a platform for filmmakers living and working in East London, the EEFF has since expanded to represent and showcase the very best in both British and international cinema, whilst retaining its commitment to one of the world’s most vibrant filmmaking communities. It now attracts an annual audience of more than 30,000 people and has an established awards system.

This year’s festival is taking place 2nd June – 2nd July, and TVO favourite The Ghoul is on the programme. The film, directed by Gareth Tunley, stars Tom Meeten with a supporting cast including Alice Lowe, Dan Skinner, Rufus Jones, Paul Kaye, Rachel Stubbings, Sean Reynard and Geoffrey McGivern. It also has a score by Waen Shepherd.

The EEFF screening of The Ghoul at Rich Mix (Bethnal Green Road) on June 17th will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with Gareth Tunley, Tom Meeten and Alice Lowe. Buy your tickets over here. Also on the festival programme is Chubby Funny which has Alice Lowe among its cast.
