Detectorists Return For Series 3
BBC Four has confirmed a third series of the BAFTA-winning Detectorists, the sitcom about a group of treasure hunters which includes Simon Farnaby in its cast.
Written, directed by, and starring Mackenzie Crook, the show features Crook and Toby Jones as metal detector enthusiasts, Andy and Lance, who are once more looking to strike gold. Simon plays the part of ‘Art’ (real name Phil), a key member in rival detector club The Antiquisearchers, along with his accomplice Paul. He will be returning for series 3.
Mackenzie Crook has indicated this could be the final series, saying: “After a year away, I decided I missed my friends in Danebury so much, that I have to go back to the world of Detectorists one more time to see what Andy and Lance can dig up. The prospect of filming another summer in the beautiful English countryside is a good one, and I’m very proud that the third series will premiere on BBC Four where it all started.”
Series 3 of Detectorists will be filmed this summer and return to BBC Four later in the year for six episodes.
