Dustin Demri-Burns of Cardinal Burns has joined the cast of new E4 comedy GameFace.
The sitcom, written by and starring Man Down‘s Roisin Conaty, started life as a pilot back in 2014 and filming of series one is now underway. Roisin plays Marcella, an aspiring actress with a distinct world view who, despite being ever optimistic, is struggling to get her work, family and love life on track. Dustin Demri-Burns will be playing Marcella’s ex-boyfriend, while Paulin McLynn (Father Ted) and Francis Magee (Game of Thrones) play her parents. The rest of the cast is made up by Damien Molony (Being Human), Karl Theobald (Green Wing), Dylan Edwards (Wasted), Nina Toussaint-White (Uncle) and comedian Caroline Ginty.
Throughout the series, Marcella will try to make a success of her life and career and navigate the changing landscape of her 30s – aided and abetted by her friends, therapist and unusually her driving instructor – whilst still recovering from the break-up of a long term relationship.
The production company behind the show is Objective Fiction, who made Toast of London, Marley’s Ghosts and Peep Show.
