“Socialite, wit and gossip column favourite” Chastity Butterworth will be bringing her immeasurable charms to Radio 4 in a pilot comedy chat show tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Written and performed by Gemma Whelan, Chastity and her faithful butler Roger (in the shape of another TVO figure, Mike Wozniak) will be inviting listeners to one of the legendary social soirées at her country house, Butterworth Hall. Endlessly fascinated by everyone and everything, Chastity will be breathlessly interviewing guests with a mixture of naïve enthusiasm, flirtatiousness and more than the occasional double entendre.

The pilot was recorded last year, and we live in hope that it’s the precursor to a full series. In this show Chastity and her over-excited butler will be chatting to guests that include Charles Dance, Lady Colin Campbell and Joe Lycett.

The half hour show airs at 11pm on Thursday 20th January on BBC Radio 4, and will be available on iPlayer afterwards.
