Kevin Eldon took us all surprise when we spotted this face in ITV’s new period drama, The Halcyon.
The eight part series focuses on the working of The Halcyon, a five-star hotel in the heart of war-torn London, where the rich, famous and debauched flock to forget their troubles during the dark times of the Second World War.
So far, it’s two episodes in, and the writing and casting is garnering The Halcyon good reviews. The Telegraph said of Kevin’s involvement: “Meanwhile, down in the kitchen it was oddly pleasing to watch Kevin Eldon, whose rubbery features are usually put in the service of comedy, play it straight as a Germanophobic chef with a bullying streak.”
Apparently he appears in three episodes, and so far we think he’s been in one or two – so perhaps his character meets a sticky kitchen-based end soon! Don’t despair if you’ve missed it, however – you can catch up on episodes 1 and 2 on ITV hub here.
If any if you still watch live TV, you can see episode 3 of The Halcyon at 9pm on Monday 16th January. To whet your appetite, take a look at the series trailer.
