More cast members have been announced for new comedy-drama film Funny Cow.

We previously reported that Kevin Eldon, Maxine Peake, Stephen Graham and Tony Pitts (who also wrote the script) would be among the film’s cast. They have now been joined by TVO regulars Diane Morgan and Vic Reeves, as well as Paddy Considine, Alun Armstrong, Hannah Walters and Corinne Bailey Rae.

The film charts the rise of a female stand-up comedian (Maxine Peake) in the all-male world of the 70s and 80s. It is set against the backdrop of working men’s clubs and the stand-up comedy circuit in North England. Adrian Shergold directs, with shooting underway this month, and Richard Hawley is providing the music.
