Dan Tetsell will be reprising his role as General Mitford in Tradmark Touring and The Watermill Theatre’s production of The Wipers Times when it transfers to the West End in the Spring.
Written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman, the stage show is an adaptation of their BBC film of the same name (featuring Steve Oram alongside Michael Palin), and tells the story of the real life satirical newspaper created in the mud and mayhem of the Somme.
Initially premiering at The Watermill Theatre back in September, the production has since travelled to Sheffield, Ipswich and Salisbury across October and November, and following rave reviews, will now be running for at least 7 weeks from 21st March to 13th May at the Arts Theatre, Great Newport Street.
Tetsell will be joined by his co-stars from the original ensemble – Kevin Brewer, Eleanor Brown, Sam Dunance, James Dutton, George Kemp, Peter Losasso and Jake Morgan. Tickets are already on sale over yonder. You can see an interview with writers Hislop and Newman, interspersed with rehearsal footage from the initial run at The Watermill Theatre below.
