Adam Kay will be reviving his Smutty Christmas Songs live shows next week in London, Southampton and Leeds.
The musical comedian – fresh from his critically acclaimed Edinburgh show Fingering A Minor on the Piano – is perhaps best known to TVO readers as the creator and writer of BBC Three sitcom Crims as well as for his work on cult favourite Mongrels.
We’re generally big fans of his barbed musical offerings, and nothing kickstarts Christmas in quite the same way. Case in point, his poignant take on When A Child is Born as heard below.
So, if you want a good ol’ dirty chuckle or fifty at a fast-paced collection of yuletide filthy ditties, you can catch Adam at Turner Sims in Southampton on 6th December, Seven in Leeds on 8th December, and the Leicester Square Theatre on 9th and 10th December.
Sadly, an advertised date at Manchester’s Gorilla on 7th December has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, but you can keep your eye on Adam’s website to catch further live dates in the new year, including a 12 night run of Fingering A Minor… at The Soho Theatre in April. Get in.
