Lucy in Circles
Lucy Montgomery stars in new short film Circles, which will be screening at a film festival in Greater Manchester later this month.
Circles is the brainchild of writer and director Dean Puckett, and is a sci-fi horror comedy following a pair of paranormal investigators as they discover a string of crop circles around their small town of Totnes, Devon.
Montgomery is joined in the short by former Star Stories regular (and as such, longstanding collaborator) Oliver Maltman. In recent years, Maltman has also played Katy Brand’s father in Little Crackers, cropped up in two episodes of Crackanory alongside Richard Glover, Cariad Lloyd and Victoria “Mrs Gideon” Wicks, and joined Kevin Eldon and Rebecca Front in Death Comes to Pemberley.
Circles – made with support from Creative England and the BFI – was nominated for Best Comedy at the London Short Film Festival recently, as well as two gongs at Plymouth Short Film Festival.
The next screening will take place at the 3rd Annual Leigh Film Festival in the Greater Manchester town on Saturday 24th September.
The event at 7pm will also feature 11 other short films, including Wild Flower which stars Kate Dickie of Prevenge and Game of Thrones fame.
Tickets are a mere £5, and are available now over yonder. If we hear of any further screenings, or a chance to see Circles online, we’ll be sure to let you know, so stay peeled. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below.
