Prevenge to open Venice International Film Critics Week
Prevenge – the new film written by, directed by and starring Alice Lowe – is to open the prestigious Venice International Film Critics Week.
Shot over 11 days with a micro budget and crew, the partially improvised revenge movie focuses on a pregnant woman who loses her grip on reality and embarks on a revenge killing spree. Lowe herself was 7 and a half months pregnant at the start of the shoot, which was also her directorial debut… as if she couldn’t get any more amazing.
TVO regulars Tom Davis, Gemma Whelan, Kayvan Novak, Tom Meeten and Dan Skinner are also on board, alongside Mike Wozniak (Man Down, One T**t) and Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones).
So with a cast to die for, and a TVO legend heading up the project, we’re itching for you to see the end results: and anyone attending VIFCW will get to do exactly that first!
The festival opens on 31st August, and there’s a full breakdown of events – including the Prevenge premiere – on their official website. We’ll bring you more news and some juicy exclusives about the film as soon as we can, so stay peeled.
