Kevin Eldon has just been announced as part of the cast of Funny Cow, a new comedy-drama feature film.
The 1970s-set film follows the story of a working class comedienne (played by Maxine Peake). After struggling to free herself from an abusive home life, Peake’s character (the titular ‘Funny Cow’) finds herself drawn to the stand-up circuit of the North working men’s clubs.
It’s not yet known what character Kevin will play in the film. Martin Freeman, John Hannah, Stephen Graham and Tony Pitts also star, with music provided by Richard Hawley.
Production is expected to begin in October 2016 in Belfast, with a potential release date of 2017.
