Not Sophie’s Choice… But Maybe Yours!

There’s a chance to see a new short film featuring Alex MacQueen and Catherine Tate over the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend, as well as comedy from Lou Sanders and other special guests.

Not Sophie’s Choice is a soft and sincere short story of a troubled middle class couple (Tate and MacQueen), and their attempt to break some very sad news to their 10 year old daughter, Sophie (the brilliant Skye Degruttola).

The news is something no young child wants to hear from their parents, but as their extra marital affairs are unravelled, it turns out the sad news is far from what Sophie was expecting.

Written by Tom Cottle, directed by Matt Holt and produced by Gina Lyons at Porcelain Film, the short is tempting enough as it is, but the event has managed to bag three stand-up comedians to support the screening.

TVO regular Lou Sanders is joined by fellow stand-up Mark Restuccia and Radio 1 DJ Greg James – who was recently a rookie detective in BBC Three show Murder in Successville (his episode airs on Wednesday 13th May, to be precise).

It all takes place at The Soho Theatre on Sunday 24th May from 5:30pm, and we can think of no better way to spend an hour of your time and ten pounds of your money this bank holiday. Book tickets over yonder.
