Channel 4 has released an extended trailer for forthcoming science-fiction drama Humans.
The series airs in June, and is set in an alternate present day world in which owning your own Synth – a highly-developed robotic servant – is the height of fashion. It features a hugely impressive ensemble cast, including Katherine Parkinson, Rebecca Front, Gemma Chan (Submarine, The IT Crowd, Doctor Who), Tom Goodman Hill (Ideal, Dead Boss, Spy), Colin Morgan (Merlin, The Fall), William Hurt (Damages, The Incredible Hulk), Will Tudor (Game of Thrones, In The Club) and our very own Paul Kaye.
Also along for the ride are legendary British character actor Danny Webb – star of productions as diverse as Scott & Bailey and Alien³; former Torchwood star Naoko Mori; Kill List and Utopia star Neil Maskell; and another TVO veteran, Dan Tetsell: as seen in the unnerving trailer below.
Co-produced by American broadcaster AMC and British production company Kudos, Humans is an English language adapation of Swedish series Real Humans, which has aired two seasons since 2012 and been sold to 50 countries worldwide. It is set to air ‘this summer’ in the US, and UK audiences can see the eight part series next month. As soon as we hear of a confirmed tx date, we’ll let you know.
