Arthur Mathews will be one of the guest speakers at Soundstage, a new regular arts event in London.

Mathews is one of Britain’s most successful television comedy writers, and his CV includes a number of TVO-connected shows. For starters, he co-created and co-wrote Father Ted with Graham Linehan, and co-wrote Toast of London.

He has also worked with Chris Morris on Brass Eye and Jam; Morris and Steve Coogan on the seminal The Day Today; and Coogan again on I’m Alan Partridge and Coogan’s Run. His credits also include Harry Enfield and Chums, The Fast Show , The Catherine Tate Show, Big Train – which he created, and The All New Alexei Sayle Show. That’s quite a comedy pedigree right there!

Soundstage is a monthly event, and each month there will be a line-up of two special guest interviewees, discussing their popular work and achievements – a mixture of inspiration and advice. Arthur Matthews will be one of the guests at the May event, alongside Dan Carey, record producer and multi-instrumentalist.

It all takes place at The Others, Stoke Newington on Thursday May 7th. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £12.50 and are available here via PayPal (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the May event).
