Earlier this evening the Paddington movie picked up a gong for ‘Best Comedy Film’ at the 2015 Empire awards.

It was a double-TVO moment on stage, with Matt Berry presenting the award. According to Empire’s blog, Matt was attired in “a natty scarf that we’re rather taken with.”

Paddington director Paul King, star Peter Capaldi, producer Rosie Allison and Karen Jankel, daughter of Paddington creator, Michael Bond picked up the award.

King, resplendent in a Hawaiian shirt, said: “I haven’t prepared anything because Grand Budapest should probably have won. We’re very grateful to have an amazing team to put it all together.” Then, after leaving the stage, he ran back on stage to shout, “And my wife!” Bless him!

Another TVO-er was also present at this evenings awards: director Ben Wheatley, was part of the ‘Done in Sixty Seconds’ jury – the award given to the best remake of a film of sixty seconds duration.

Wheatley was joined on stage by fellow jury members, Jon S. Baird, Edith Bowman and Bauer Media UK Chief Executive Paul Keenan. And the award went to a remake of Ghostbusters, which you can see below:

Congratulations to all of this evening’s winners…especially Paddington (we’re not in any way biased!).
