Fans of Channel 4’s Gadget Man, where Richard Ayoade offers a whistle-stop tour of some of the world’s craziest gadgets, will no doubt love to hear what the delightfully sarcastic comic has to say about the world’s top tourist destinations. And hear him we will, in his new series, Travel Man.

Richard’s approach to travel has been described as “ruthlessly efficient,” and the man himself has said that he hates going on holiday, so it looks like Travel Man will be a guided tour like no other.

Viewers will be taken on a journey of discovery by Richard, viewing all that each new city has to offer – with some strange consequences. During the four-part series, he will be accompanied by friends, Adam Hills, Jessica Hynes, Stephen Managan and Kathy Burke, who will feature in the first episode which airs on Monday.

In Monday’s episode, Kathy and Richard will be perusing the sights and delights of Barcelona. They will sample Spanish wines and some unconventional food, as well as exploring some surreal art and being treated to a tricycle tour.
