Big News For The Monster

© Film London

A new short film, starring Richard Glover, directed by Bob Pipe and produced by James Wren, has been awarded funding by Film London.

The film, The Monster, is a comedy horror about an iconic monster who falls in love with his leading lady on the set of a dubious film, as he tries to resurrect his once-successful career. From that synopsis alone, it sounds brilliantly unmissable!

Now that funding has been granted for the project, it’s full steam ahead! Casting begins next week and filming starts towards the end of April. Some scenes will be shot at the famous Elstree Studios (home of legendary movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and The Shining – and more recently of Paul King‘s Paddington), and the current plan is to release the film in August 2015.

Monster-sized congratulations and best wishes to James, Bob and Rich for making this exciting project happen!

We’ll be keeping you up to date with how it develops during production. But if you fancy keeping tabs on it yourself, follow the The Monster on twitter here.
