Katherine Parkinson has been confirmed as one of the main cast member for a new BBC 1 drama.
The Club is a six-part series which follows the lives of six expectant couples who attend a seemingly straightforward antenatal group. However, in sharing the most intimate of experiences with one another, secrets are revealed and lies bubbling beneath the surface threaten each of the new families.
Parkinson plays the part of Kim, in a relationship with Susie (Tara Fitzgerald) and expecting their second child to the same biological father. As the story unfolds, we discover that the arrangement with Susie’s ex and sperm donor Neil is not quite what it seems.
Kay Mellow, the series creator and director has said: “I’m really excited by the calibre of cast we’ve attracted; the level of talent is staggering. I feel flattered and honoured to have such amazing actors bringing my characters to life.”
The show starts filming in January in and around Leeds; as yet no transmission date has been confirmed.
