O’Dowd To Hit Broadway

© Live For Films

Chris O’Dowd will be making his Broadway debut next year.

He will star alongside Hollywood actor, James Franco, playing a migrant field worker in the stage version of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men. Chris will play the role of learning-impaired Lennie, the long-term friend of George (Franco).

The revival will open at New York’s Longacre theatre in Spring 2014. This will be the first time in 40 years that Steinbeck’s adaptation of his 1937 novel has been seen on Broadway. The production’s director will be Anna Shapiro, who won a Tony for her production of August: Osage County, since turned into a film starring Meryl Streep.

The opening night is slated for April 16th, and the run is scheduled to end on July 27th. We’ll be sure to let you know when tickets go on sale.
