The Look Of Love – the hit biopic of porn baron Paul Raymond starring Steve Coogan – is now available on dvd and blu-ray.

The former ‘King Of Soho’ opened the UK’s first strip club, before buying up much of Soho and founding numerous soft-corn magazines.

Perhaps his biggest contribution to society, however, was to set up The Raymond Revuebar – a strip joint whose theatre section later became the unlikely home of The Comic Strip team featuring Peter Richardson, Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmundson, Alexei Sayle, Nigel Planer and French & Saunders.  It later became Eddie Izzard’s regular stand-up venue early in his career.

The film of his life, directed by Michael Winterbottom, was released in cinemas earlier this year to mixed reviews, and features a top notch cast alongside Coogan.  The likes of Imogen Poots, Anna Friel, Tasmin Egerton, David Walliams, Chris Addison and Matt Lucas all feature, and if you missed it in the cinemas, you can now see what all the fuss was about via home ‘video’.

The dvd edition, featuring deleted scenes and cast interviews, can be ordered for just £9 via The Velvet Onion Amazon Store right now.

If you’d prefer to see the film in sumptuous high definition, then the blu-ray edition is only £13.94 from that same store.
