Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa has topped the UK box office.
The film was released late last week, and has made £2.17 million in its opening weekend, according to BBC News.
Years and years in gestation, the film stars Steve Coogan as the difficult broadcaster, alongside Colm Meaney, Sean Pertwee, Anna Maxwell Martin, Nigel Lindsay, Darren Boyd, Monica Dolan and regular collaborators Simon Greenall, Felicity Montague, Phil Cornwell and Tim Key.
A statement has been released by ‘Alan’, who said: “Now is not a time for gloating or celebration, more a time for healing old wounds, a time to say ‘let us join together in thanks that I am number one at the box office’. Hallelujah.”
There’s currently no news on international releases, bar Australia and New Zealand – with the former getting the movie on 24th October, and the latter on 5th December.
