It has just been announced that Antony Elvin has been nominated for a BASCA British Composer Award for his work on the recent adaptation of The Prince & The Pauper.
The prestigious BASCA Awards celebrate the music of today’s composers living and working in the United Kingdom and also UK premières of work by composers from outside the UK. Nominations were invited for works that had received their UK première between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013.
Elvin was the musical director and composer for a version of the famous tale about mistaken identities which played at the Unicorn Theatre at the end of 2012. For more information about this adaptation of The Prince & The Paper, please take a look at our earlier post about the production.
The 11th annual British Composer Awards will take place at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London on Tuesday 3rd December 2013, and exclusive coverage of the awards will be broadcast by BBC Radio 3. What’s more, winning works will be recognised by a presentation to the composer at the Awards ceremony and will be the focus of a BBC Radio 3 broadcast about the Awards on Sunday 8th December 2013.
TVO offers heartfelt congratulations to the very wonderful Mr Elvin, and we’ll be keeping all of our musical fingers crossed for 3rd December!
