Face Academy Revived!
The much loved second Gary Le Strange album, Face Academy, is reissued digitally this week.
For those not in the know, Le Strange is the New Romantic, Bowie-esque alter ego of Waen Shepherd, whose origins stem from Waen and Simon Farnaby‘s cult sketch duo, Peterford Golf Club.
This year marks ten years since the character’s solo Edinburgh debut, and this month marks the first anniversary of his return after years in hibernation, at The Velvet Onion Live.
The album accompanied Gary’s second Edinburgh show, and features such classics as Photocopier, Modern Disguise, The Outsider and Seedy Pimp – the latter of which can be revisited via it’s music video, directed by Stewart Lee, below.
To celebrate it’s release, Waen will be further extending his incredibly detailed website, with revamped packaging available to download alongside the tracks.
To download the album from Wednesday, May 15th, just choose your preferred vendor: with links available for iTunes, CD Baby and Spotify from tomorrow, and pre-order links for Amazon available now!
Le Strange is also about to feature in the latest installment of The Forgery Club, at the Udderbelly, Southbank this Friday, May 17th. The ‘Back To The 80s’ installment will also feature Richard Glover, James Wren and David McNeill, and tickets can be bought over yonder.
