The Continuing Adventures Of Colin Hoult

As those of you who have been following Being Human will know (and those of you who don’t – minor spoiler warning right here, right now), Colin Hoult has been wowing audiences as office nerd turned hedonistic vampire Ian Cramb – aka Crumb.  But with his time in the series now at an end, there’s no signs of Colin standing still.

First up, of course, are the live shows we told you about recently.  In just under two weeks, Londoners can see him on a double bill with the splendid musical comedy act Jonny & The Baptists, trying out some new material.  The event at King’s Place is on Thursday, March 14th and tickets are just £12.50 over yonder.

Then, we have the biggie – his brand new full length live show, Charactwhores – which debuts at the Udderbelly Festival on London’s South Bank on Saturday, 22nd June.  Tickets are on sale now via the Udderbelly’s website, which seems to think the show is called Charatchorse instead, but either way, the show is only £12.50 a ticket and a guaranteed sell out, so book now!

As we await announcement of further live dates for Charactwhores (surely Edinburgh is a strong possibility this year? And we’d love to see Col do a national tour!), fans of Hoult can take solace in his activities on camera.  As the picture above demonstrates, you’ll be able to catch him cameo as a hipster in The Secret Dude Society – the forthcoming BBC Three sketch show from popular cult live trio Pappy’s.  We’ll try and bring you news on a transmission date soon.

Before that, though, you’ll be able to see him return as psychic charlatan Bryan Medici in the Easter special grand finale of Life’s Too Short – starring Warwick Davis, alongside it’s creators Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant.  The full series last year also featured Matthew Holness, though it remains to be seen if he’ll return too.

With the special promising to reunite Davis with his Willow co-star Val Kilmer, we’ll be sure to bring you news of an exact transmission date as soon as we have one.  You can see a clip of Colin as Bryan in series one – which is available on dvd & blu-ray now – below.

All in all then, a very busy time for Colin as ever – and hopefully we’ll be able to catch up with Mr Hoult again soon, so stay peeled!
