Squatting With Sandling

Richard Sandling is bringing a new arts-based comedy night to London in the form of Squat Betty Spoken Word Night.

Squat Betty Spoken Word Night is the reincarnation of Squat Betty Alternative Comedy Club, which Richard previously ran in Southend On Sea. However, this time instead of just featuring stand up comedy, Squat Betty will be showcasing acts performing Poetry, Storytelling, Sketch Comedy, Character Comedy, Music, Book Readings, Lectures and Stand Up Comedy. Basically anything, as long as it’s interesting & fun.

What’s more, each month Resident MC Richard Sandling will attempt to write at least one new poem in any metre and on any theme that has been suggested in advance. You can suggest styles & themes on the event’s facebook page.

The first show takes place on 4th March upstairs at The Duchess of Cambridge pub, Goldhawk Road, London W6. It will feature poet Tim Wells, comedian Nathaniel Metcalfe, author and presenter Nikesh Shukla, and the man himself, Richard Sandling.  Entry is only£5 and doors open at 7.30pm (show at 8.00pm).

For more information about the acts and the night itself, head on over here.

Go on, get out there and broaden your comedy horizons!
