Sight(seers) & Sound!
Long running academic film magazine Sight & Sound has a glorious front cover on it’s new issue…
Yes, it’s Alice Lowe and Steve Oram as Tina and Chris in Sightseers – that critical darling we simply cannot recommend highly enough from director Ben Wheatley – which is due into UK cinemas on November 30th, after a string of preview screenings we told you about last week.
The magazine, which has been running since 1932 (!), has a four page feature on the film, which features interviews with Lowe, Oram & Wheatley, on the film’s inspirations and the transition from stage characters to full blooded film stars.
It’s available in newsagents now priced just £4.50 (and seems to be on a promoted display in WH Smith across the land, which should bring in some extra punters!), and a digital version for tablet devices is also available. For more info, visit the Sight & Sound website here.
Today has also seen Empire reveal an exclusive quad poster. Not sure about you – but it’s the kind of thing we want on our walls!
If all of this is lost on you, it’s time to catch up. We caught a crew preview screening of The Sightseers back in August, and our spoiler-free preview can be seen here. We hope to bring you some exclusive talks with the talented minds in front of and behind the camera on the film soon, and stay peeled for footage of our first ever live event, which took place in May and featured Alice & Steve, shortly too!
