Old Gregg & The Deevil

One of the weirdest stories The Velvet Onion has come across in its time was that bizarre moment when cyber-voiced rapper T-Pain sung a modified version of “Electroboy” over a banging club tune early last year.

Now it seems another urban star has taken inspiration from The Boosh – with underground Kansas City rapper Godemis quoting everyone’s favourite salt-water creature on the lead single from his debut mix-tape album.

Entitled simply, “Ol’ Gregg”, the track is a surprisingly effective and eclectic slice of contemporary hip hop punctuated by lines we Boosh fans know backwards.  You can see the video below.

If you like what you hear, the track and indeed the entirety of Godemis’ debut The Deevil, can be downloaded from DatPiff for free now after registration.

Editors note: thanks to Eanna Holton for pointing us towards this one!
