Scribblings Competition #6: Get Your Oxford Wristbands!

© Canongate Books Ltd.
As many of you have already spotted, Oxford is the next destination to receive a visit from Noel Fielding and Dave Brown as part of the of their mission to get the UK scribbling.
Noel and Dave will be appearing at Waterstones Broad Street on Saturday 3rd December to celebrate the release of Scribblings Of A Madcap Shambleton. They’ll be painting a canvas on the first floor from 12noon, followed by a signing in the shop from 2pm. 300 wristbands will be available for the signing, with the first 50 wristbands given access to the painting session. Wristbands will be handed out from the store at 9am on Saturday.
…or you can win one!
Because those people at Canongate Books are so lovely, they’ve paired with us again to give you the chance to win wristbands for this Saturday’s event in Oxford. We are offering 5 readers guaranteed access for them and a friend to the signing on 3rd December, and one signed copy of the book!
At 7pm on Wednesday evening (November 30th), we will post a question on the site – and the first 5 people to respond in a comment with the correct answer will win – so get your fingers hovering over your keyboards at 7pm on Wednesday to be in with a chance to win!!
If you are a winner you will be notified as soon as possible and we will need a valid email address, which you can send to submit@thevelvetonion.com
In the meantime, you can order a copy of the book from The Velvet Onion Amazon Store now for just £9.00! (RRP £19.99).
If you win wristbands does that get you garuanteed access to the painting session?? xxx

How much do the wristbands cost? Xx

Wristbands are free. We’re not sure whether winning a wristband automatically grants you access to the painting as well as the signing, but we’ll see if we can find out.

A wristband will automatically grant you access to the painting, though not necessarily a spot right at the front.

Edit: That should have perhaps said *winning* a wristband… Just to avoid all confusion!

Hi Lucy,
This will be the last signing before Christmas. We’re hoping to arrange some more in January, but nothing has been confirmed quite yet. We’ll make sure that TVO are the first to know though!

I’m just wondering, do you guys know the ‘timetable’ of where Noel will be and on what dates?
Is the Oxford one the last? And if it’s not, will he be going back to London or near Bournemouth at any time? I really want to meet him, and I always end up missing him!
