Scribblings Competiton #2: Edinburgh Wrist Bands & Books To Win!

© Canongate Books Ltd.

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED. COME BACK SOON FOR ONE MORE CHANCE TO WIN NOEL GOODIES!

As we announced yesterday, The Velvet Onion and Canongate Books are proud to be able to offer 5 lucky peelers the chance to get guaranteed signed copies of Scribblings Of A Madcap Shambleton – in person with Noel Fielding and Dave Brown – this Saturday!

The duo will be signing copies at Urban Outfitters, Princes Street, Edinburgh, from 12pm to 3pm, and five of our readers will be given a pair of wristbands for the event for them and a friend, and one free signed copy of the book too! All you have to do is reply to this post with a comment below, answering the following question:

In Noel Fielding’s painting titled ‘Bubblegum Cats’, how many whiskers can you see on the cats in total?

The first five correct comments received will be given the wristbands and books on Saturday by Canongate’s promotional team. Winners MUST be able to provide their own transport to the event, and be 100% certain they can make it. For all the legal T&Cs, see below.

This competition offers guaranteed entry to the Urban Outfitters Edinburgh event featuring Noel Fielding & Dave Brown on Saturday 15th October 2011. Each prize consists of 2x wristbands for the event and 1x signed copy of ‘Scribblings Of A Madcap Shambleton’. These will be given to the winners by the promotional team from Canongate who will be present on Saturday This competition is being run entirely by The Velvet Onion, with prizes organised and distributed by Canongate Books Ltd. One entry per person. Any entrants found making multiple entries from the same IP address will be disqualified, and banned from entering further competitions run by The Velvet Onion. Furthermore, any winning entrants who fail to turn up to the event without giving The Velvet Onion prior warning of at least 24 hours notice [5:30pm Friday] will be banned from entering further competitions run by The Velvet Onion. Due to the nature of our website software, comments may appear to have been posted before others when first entered, but our system logs the exact time a comment was made enabling us to truly determine the winners. If you firmly disagree with our results, email submit@thevelvetonion.com and we can provide evidence to support our results. The Velvet Onion will not accept entries as replies to our Facebook/Twitter pages, messages on our forum or emailed to any account. No personal information required, and your emails will not be passed on to a third party beyond Canongate Books Ltd. There is no monetary value to this competition and no cash alternative will be offered. The Velvet Onion and Canongate Books Ltd reserve the right to withdraw this competition if any overriding issues arise.
UPDATE!

We have our winners!  Georgie Malone, Jasmine, Heather, Lauren Winstanley and Justjenita19 are our winners, and will be given the wristbands for Saturday’s signing event for them and a friend, plus a copy of the book to get signed! We will be contacting our five winners this evening (please make sure you’ve emailed your contact details to us at submit@thevelvetonion.com), and if any of them are unable to attend, we will be offering their places to the closest runners up.

The winning answer was 12 (and here’s the painting as proof); the painting of the single cat is called ‘Bubblegum cat at the cinema’.

Next week will we hope to see more competitions on site – including more chances to win prizes in entirely different ways.  So don’t worry if you missed out here, or have a really slow connection – your time may yet come!  Thanks everyone!
