Techno-Satire On Channel 4

Looks like there will be another new series launching this autumn on Channel 4 which we’ll be keeping our Velvety eyes on…
Black Mirror is a new 3-part mini-series written by Charlie Brooker and Jesse Armstrong. It’s described by Channel 4 as: “A hybrid of The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected which taps into our contemporary unease about our modern world. The three stand-alone dramas will be sharp, suspenseful, satirical tales with a techno-paranoia bent – all audacious ‘what if’ stories: some comic, some shocking.”
Charlie Brooker says of the new show: “It combines satire, technology, absurdity, and a pinch of surprise, and it all takes place in a world you almost – almost – totally recognise. It changes each week – like the weather, but hopefully about 2000 times more entertaining.”
As well as being co-written by one of Nathan Barley‘s creators and one of the writing team behind Four Lions, another reason to check it out when it airs is that it includes Julia Davis amongst its cast. For more information visit Channel 4’s website. We can’t wait!
I didn’t see Brooker’s previous drama ‘Dead Set’, but I’ll look out for this.
