Noel Fielding‘s sensational repeat performance of Wuthering Heights on Let’s Dance For Comic Relief failed to win the competition, despite the help of his very own Heathcliffe… Mr Julian Barratt!

Noel’s appearance was pre-empted by a new short film in which his backing dancers followed him out and about on the streets of Camden… and after wowing the judges with his pitch perfect performance, his Booshy husband appeared in rugged garb to sweep his (wo)man off ‘her’ feet!

Boosh fans voted in their drones, but the popularity of Russell Kane’s Beyonce grinding came second to tap-dancing duo James & Charlie.  Perhaps after two previous comics-in-drag, audiences were too jaded to vote for another, though we biased few at TVO Towers were almost certain our boy could’ve sinched the title – especially after THAT cameo: which reunited Noel & Julian for the first time on stage/screen for a long, long time.

As Noel’s recent interview with us suggested, contrary to rumour things are still rosy in the Boosh camp, and as that appearance sent Boosh fans into meltdown, it also cemented every word he said in a simple act of wheelbarrow preparation.  Good to have you back, boys, even if it was only for a fleeting moment.

Sadly, Noel’s epically deserved win was not to be – but the important thing to remember is this glorious effort from all the contestants was in aid of the brilliant Comic Relief, and the four week competition has raised an enormous amount of money for the cause.  Comic Relief itself takes place on March 18th – and for more info you can visit the Red Nose Day website now!
