Let’s Dance Coming Soon!

The BBC Press Office has confirmed that Noel Fielding‘s charity danceathon appearance on Let’s Dance For… Comic Relief will begin on Saturday 19th February.

The series, which is presented by Alex Jones and Steve Jones (no relation) on BBC One, will feature a star-studded lineup which has now been expanded from initial reports.  Joining Noel on the show will be fellow comedians Russell Kane, Andi Osho, Ed Byrne, Lee Nelson, Marcus Brigstocke and, as we previously reported before most sites caught on, the legendary Adrian Edmondson.

They will be joined by The Day Today legend Rebecca Front, former Eastenders star Joe Swash, tv presenters Penny Smith and Caroline Flack, singer Lulu and controversial media-savvy enterpriser Katie Price.  There will also be an 80s super-group of contestants featuring singers Limahl and Chesney Hawkes alongside singer and actress Clare “Kochanski from Red Dwarf” Grogan and the post-punk singer Toyah Willcox – who is rather popular with some of TVO’s subjects as well as our own editor!

The show’s executive producer Jo Wallace said: “We’re so excited to announce these latest names, they add to an already fantastic line-up and this year’s show is shaping up to be a fun packed, high energy event all in the name of charity.”

Across three weeks, Let’s Dance will see the stars pay homage to and perform some of the world’s most iconic dance routines in front of a live studio audience. Each week they will battle it out to wow viewers with their moves, and secure a place in the grand final in week four.

There will be also a weekly rotating panel made up of comedians, some of whom are former contestants, who will review each of the performances. The panel of three, together with the viewers, will vote for their favourite two acts to go through to the final and be in with a chance to be crowned champion of the dance floor.

Red Nose Day itself takes place on Friday 18 March and raises money to change lives of extremely vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the UK and Africa. For more information or to make a donation, go to www.rednoseday.com.

Whilst we all wonder exactly what Noel has got up his sleeve, here are two previous comedy winners – and runner up Katy Brand of Ealing Live fame – to whet your appetite…

Cannot wait for this! Will be very torn between lovely Noel and Ade Edmondson. Looks like a great line up though, with the obvious exception of Katie Price.
