Four Lions, Two BAFTAS And A Rabbit-Chicken

Four Lions has been nominated for two BAFTA Awards.
The film, which was the movie debut of Chris Morris and featured cameos from Kevin Eldon and Julia Davis, has been nominated in the Outstanding British Film category, whilst Morris himself has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, Director Or Producer category.
It’s a tough fight to the top, with the film competing against Danny Boyle’s 127 hours, Mike Leigh’s Another Year, plus critically applauded box office hits Made In Dagenham and The King’s Speech. Morris is up against the makers of The Abour, Skeletons, Monster and Exit Through The Gift Shop, so again – its a very tough category.
Nevertheless, we here at The Velvet Onion, slightly biased as we may be, believe Four Lions can stand up for itself against these other top-rated movies, and Morris deserves every award he can possibly get. Good luck to Chris and his fellow writers and producers from all at TVO!
