As we have previously reported, the fourth series of The IT Crowd is released on dvd on September 27th.
The front cover has been revealed, and continues the computer-game feel of the previous seasons with a Rock Band flavoured theme.
Extras have now also been confirmed for the package, and will include 16 minutes of location footage, 9 minutes of out-takes, an audio commentary, easter eggs and the full length audio of Kalypso – the track recorded by Sweet Billy Pilgrim with Katherine Parkinson as Jen, which was released as a 7″ single for World Record Day back in April. The BBFC website also reports that a feature known as ‘A Menu Homage’ has been classified – and we’ll aim to find out more about that one as soon as we can!
Also that day, two box sets of all four series will be released. They’re both available to order through now, and both sell at the same price of £29.47. So far so similar. So what’s the difference?
The difference is that the ‘Special Edition box set’ also includes all of the following (in addition to 4 series worth of IT Crowd hilarity, as you’ll also find in the bog-standard box set ):
• 1 x Double-sided fantasy/reality game board
• 6 x Double-sided fantasy/reality character cards
• 24 x pop out player counters (4 per character)
• 1 x Pop out self-assemble 20 sided dice
• 1 x ruless/suggestions for gameplay
In other words, an IT Crowd role play fantasy game!! For IT Crowd geeks it doesn’t get much better than that.
Initial reports of the game are very positive, so we’re counting down the days until our box set pops through the letterbox at Onion Towers. Clearly the Special Edition version is where it’s at, so if you fancy ordering yours have a gander at The Velvet Onion Amazon Store.
