Noble & Animated: Colin Attempts

A few weeks ago we mentioned that Kim Noble had produced an animated short for the BBC. Now Colin Attempts: Popularity (Part 1)  has been joined by two sibling films, which are well worth taking a look at.

Colin Attempts: Popularity (Part 2) sees the wildly distorted plasticine shape of Colin once again doing his utmost to drum up online social support. And Colin Attempts: Women finds him trying to woo the ladies.  Clever, dark and just a bit trippy – these shorts feel a bit like the bastard child of Charlie Brooker and Luxury Comedy. Wallace & Gromitt they are not.  Brilliant stuff!

A peep at Coogan’s Look of Love

Kevin Is Titting About

As you might have noticed, It’s Kevin is missing from BBC2 tonight, it’s making way for the golf!

Fans of Kevin Eldon will be relieved to know the  show will be back next Sunday, but in the meantime, why not check out his DVD release Kevin Eldon is Titting About which is available from TVO Store.

The DVD, produced by Go Faster Stripe, is shot in black and white and comes in a cardboard cover, it’s a recording of Kevin’s Edinburgh show from 2010, and has some familiar characters from the TV show.

So if you’re missing your weekly Kevin Eldon fix then why not give the DVD a try? Next week’s It’s Kevin includes ringside seats at the Outraged Seventies Sitcom Vicar Playoff, so it will certainly be worth the wait!

Cook’s Treason

The first song from James Cook‘s forthcoming mini album has emerged online.

The Reverse Engineering project begins with the mini album Vol. One, which will include seven of Cook’s favourites from the classic New Wave period of the late 70s and early 80s.

The first track is a reworking of the Teardrop Explodes classic Treason, and like the rest of the project, is available as a free download.

Featuring the Dollhouse Band comprising Anne Marie Kirby, Terezie Kovalova, Smity and of course, James himself, the full mini album will be available soon, but you can pick up this debut track now via his official website, and catch the video below.

Penned by Sue Perkins,the series follows the fortunes of Sara, a skilled veterinarian who’s too scared to tell her parents she’s gay. On the evening of her 40th birthday, Sara’s friends give her an ultimatum: either she tells her parents when they come to visit in six weeks’ time, or they will! Steve plays the part of Daniel, Sara’s assistant.
