Matilda the Musical, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, won seven awards at this year’s 36th annual Olivier Award Ceremony, which was held at London’s Royal Opera House yesterday.
As we mentioned previously, the show was nominated in a record-breaking ten categories, including Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Mongrels star Paul Kaye.
Unfortunately that was one of the awards the show didn’t win, but you can check out the rest of the winners and nominees here.
Paul is set to appear in the show as Mr Wormwood at the Cambridge Theatre until at least May, and the show is set to run at the Theatre until February 2013. Tickets can be bought online here.
When you say at least may how about the end of may… I have been wanting to see this from before it started and would be devastated if Paul Kaye left before i could see him in it. His voice reminds me of mongrels and the comedy prom. x
