It’s turning into a bumper month for Noel Fielding interviews. As we mentioned last week, Noel features in this week’s NME – the Christmas double issue.
The festive-themed five page article sees Noel being gift-wrapped by Tom and Serge from Kasabian, while the energetic conversation ranges from how the trio would change Christmas and how odd their faces are – through to their work together on Noel’s new TV show Luxury Comedy. As Serge says “No one’s prepared to take any risks, all the shows on the telly are the same format. Since the Boosh it’s been really tired, so it’s amazing that Noel’s gonna come back. Thank god there’s people like him out there…It looks like nothing else anyone has ever seen and it’s inspiring.”
The Christmas issue is on sale now, and you can buy it to view online for £1.75. In the meantime this film of the NME shoot with extracts from the interview will hopefully tide you over.

Next up, Noel appears in the December issue of Q magazine (the one with Coldplay on the cover).
In the one page interview, he and Serge talk about their friendship (Noel: “We sat and talked for hours. We were magnetically drawn together”), and their work together on Noel’s new TV show Luxury Comedy. Along the way they discuss why it’s probably a good job that Noel isn’t in a band, why Serge thinks his friend is “the man” and why “people who don’t do sports look wrong in drainpipes”. The December issue of Q is on sale now.
With the launch of Luxury Comedy just around the corner we suspect there will be plenty more Fielding coverage heading our way. Of course we’ll be keeping our feelers out to bring you all the latest news.
i love these magazines but even more now, what a crimbo treat!!!
Was reading the NME interview earlier on. made me LOL on the train. oops! x
Just read the NME interview. Loving the Alice Cooper eyes but done in a very dramatic scarlet. Their world is like an adult playground where you never know what is round the corner. It’s great because you kind of lose the magic when you’re an adult and have to take on adult responsibilities like rent and bills etc. It’s true that the t.v seems afraid to take any risks – although I am loving Charlie Brooker’s “Black Mirror” – but in general it seems fairly anaetheticsed. I find myself watching “Crimewatch” these days for any genuine drama. LOL! What is deemed must see viewing now pertains to someone on TOWIE breaking a false nail! Looking forward to seeing some psychedelic shit to mix it up!
I cant seem to get the video to work, does it work for everyone else?
