Sunday Scribblings At HMV

11 Oct

You came, you queued, you crimped from time to time…and you queued some more. Then finally, 22 hours after the most dedicated of you had started queuing, it was all over.

Last Sunday saw the London signing to mark the launch of Scribblings of The Madcap Shambleton, Noel Fielding‘s new book of art. What was clear was that Noel and the book’s designer and photographer, Dave Brown, are still much-loved by fans. Noel’s fear that no one would show up was completely unfounded.

What was also clear was how much they appreciate the fans. Noel and Dave spent a knackering 3 hours signing books, bags, t-shirts, body parts…basically anything that was placed in front of them – and chatting to fans. They were genuinely sorry that everyone had to queue for so long and that they weren’t able to spend much time with each person.

It goes without saying that The Velvet Onion were in attendance to cover the event. It was great to meet so many of you there too! Here’s our film of the signing (thanks to Paulyne); as you can see, there were a lot of books to sign. Let us know if you can spot yourself….

P.S.  We’ll be posting the photos of the event tomorrow!

Lovely video. You do such a great job on the Onion. For me (living in Germany) it is the only way to stay updated. The boosh is not very popular around here (for I try to persuade anybody I meet to watch i, annoying everyone I worry) and we don’t have anything like them in Germany. Thanks for giving me Infos and updates and exclusives, for I cannot make it to the UK very often. Looking forward to the next signings and news. Cheers from rainy Cologne and greetings to all the other Boosh Fans around here ;-)

Can’t believe he thought no-one would come! Looked a great day – got a taste of it through this little video. I am loving that jumper – a total sartorial delight. Fielding the fashionista never disappoints. And the guy just gets more handsome as times goes on – is life fair? And his talent and credibility seems on the up and up. I have to say it – I’m well jel! Not that I watch TOWIE but I have a mate that does and that is her catch phrase! Honest, lol. Can’t wait to finally hold this actual book in my hands. I have nothing against items like the kindle – but to me the actual feel of a book is something special. Hope to get my copy signed at some point!
