A bevvy of TVO faces are to appear at a very special Forgery Club event in London later this month.

Entitled Forgery Club @The Movies, the latest concoction from the mighty Bob Pipe and the team promises  jam-packed night of movie related sketches, characters and fun, featuring some of the finest performers in the business.

These include The Real MacGuffins, Nathan Dean Williams, Spencer Jones, Nathaniel Tapley, Jamie Glassman and Steve Pretty, plus a number of our own favourites.

Gareth Tunley will be teaming up with Alex Kirk to appear as The Scott Brothers, whilst Richard Sandling (who you may recognise from The Forgotten Picture Show, Burge & Way and Perfect Movie) will also be on the bill.

And that’s not all – with the ever enjoyable Colin Hoult and sketch-trio Pros From Dover (featuring the wonderful Richard Glover alongside former Brasseye guest-star Phil Whelans and Sean Garrett) set to make appearances too, making this a real night to remember.

As per usual, The Forgery Club will take place at The Albany on Portland Street – this time on Friday 16th September from 7:30pm till late.  Tickets are available at the venue for just £6 (£5 cons.) – for more details, visit the event’s Facebook Page - and you can check out our review of the Hot Brew takeover of The Forgery Club earlier this year right here.

Jinsy Previews

Sky Atlantic have posted a series of brief preview clips from their forthcoming surreal comedy series This Is Jinsy.

The show, which is the brainchild of Chris Bran and Justin Chub, began life as a BBC Three pilot last year, but when the Beeb turned it down, Sky Atlantic picked it up, and have packed the show with a string of high profile guests, including a couple of familiar faces from TVO.

Alice Lowe joins Janine Duvitski & Geoffrey McGivern as series regulars, with recurring characters played by Marek Larwood, Nigel Planer, Don Warrington, KT Tunstall, Marcia Warren and our very own Colin Hoult.

Meanwhile extra special guest stars include Harry Hill, David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Jane Horrocks, Simon Callow, Kevin Eldon, Peter Serafinowicz and Brian Murphy – making this truly one to look out for.

This week saw Sky Atlantic post four trailers to their official YouTube channel, and they also provided Chortle with a clip of David Tennant in action as corrupt, camp wedding planner Mr Slightlyman.  You can see all of these trailers below, and the series starts on September 19th at 10:10pm.

London audiences have a chance to see Rich Fulcher in action this week.

Fulcher is taking part in a double-banked pilot recording for a new comedy panel show podcast, in which teams must work out the right thing to do in any given situation.

Hosted by Danielle Ward, and featuring team captains Michael Legge and Margaret Cabourn-Smith (recently heard in The Headset Set with Colin Hoult), the show’s first batch of guests are Emma Kennedy, Thom Tuck, a special guest still to be announced and our very own Richy Rich.

The recordings will be released via The British Comedy Guide website later this year, and will be available on iTunes too.  For more information, visit TBCG now.

If you can make it to the recording at The Pheonix, Cavendish Square (near Oxford Circus Station) this Thursday, September 8th, tickets can be purchased at WeGotTickets for £6 (£5 con.) now.

Vitriolic Release

Volatile Times has been announced as IAMX‘s third single from the album with the same name. The press release brings forth an avalanche of information, including IAMX’s plans to conquer the US this winter.

The cover work for Volatile Times can be seen here on the left and will be released September 23rd. The single will be the first one that is available as an EP-CD and only 500 copies will be available. All pre-ordered EP-CDs will be signed by the vocalist and IAMX frontman Chris Corner and can be found exclusively at Boutique IAMX. Volatile Times can also be purchased as an MP3 or FLAC. You can pre-order your preferred option today!

Chris Corner calls Volatile Times an “angst ridden ‘fuck you’ song” while explaining how he pities the generations surrounded by the commercialisation of the world. The album version of the song will be released together with four remixes done by Clayton Worbeck, Nobless Oblige, Glen [Strangers] Nicholls and UNFALL (Chris Corner). The official press release states that this EP “exposes just how differently other visionaries can deconstruct and interpret IAMX’s music without losing its soul and intent.”

Furthermore, a video will be revealed on the day of the EP release. The concept sounds particularly wild as Corner talks the chaotic process of filming the video. He shares a tidbit saying that  ”Janine Gezang was the demonic blood soaked sex nun floating in a swimming pool and I was the drunken, crying Hersheys chocolate syrup monster in the white room of an asylum. “

In addition to the news of the third single, Chris Corner says IAMX will relocate to the US West Coast for the winter. US fans might be delighted that they plan to play some acoustic shows down in LA and hopefully in the East Coast. IAMX also promises that February will bring “something special” for the Americans.

The band is still on the road with the Into Asylum Tour and you can find all the available shows here, among them the highly anticipated London show. Take a moment and drop by the official merchandise store, Boutique IAMX, to see the recently added items, including IAMX headpieces and a new t-shirt design!

Love Music Love Food Love Fielding

A new coffee table photography book by Patrice de Villiers will be hitting the shelves today, Monday 5th September, in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Love Music Love Food is billed as “The Rockstar Cook Book” and it features a series stunning photographs of celebrated musicians with their favourite foods. The reason we’re writing about it here (besides it being a great book for a great cause) is because Noel Fielding graces its pages.

Noel has been an enthusiastic supporter of TCT for a number of years, performing at the charity’s annual Albert Hall comedy night for four out of the past five years. He appears in the Love Music Love Food book alongside Kasabian.

The photograph featuring Noel and the band is an homage to the Rolling Stones album Beggars Banquet. The original image was taken in 1968 by photographer Michael Joseph, and graces the inner sleeve of the album. The Love Music Love Food piece also includes an interview with Noel and Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno, in which they discuss their favourite foods and their friendship.

The hard cover book is priced at £30 and is available from book retailers or TCT’s online store. While it’s not cheap, as the press release for the book states: “A galaxy of music stars including Noel Gallagher, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Brandon Flowers, Brian May, Siouxsie Sioux & over 60 others have let us in on which food or drink keeps their star shining & allowed us to smother them in Marmite, cover naked torsos with Haggis & tatties, pelt them with dayglo cupcakes to help young people with cancer.” So definitely worth the cover price!
