The Velvet Onion is pleased to announce two corrections to previous announcements from the world of Alice Lowe.
Four days ago, we reported that Alice was to appear live in Birmingham as part of Popcorn Comedy on Thursday 21st April. Indeed, we even included a poster for the event which proudly proclaimed her involvement!
Since then, we’ve received a message from Crispin Wheatflake, announcing that it is actually Hot Brew who will at The Victoria that evening, as both he and his wife, Oona [who looks suspiciously like Ms Lowe], are keen to teach Brummies the importance of the root vegetable.
Tickets are available here, and at only £6, it’s fair to say if you’re in the area, you’d be a fool not to attend this important musical seminar on the majesty of the turnip from Oona & Crispin.
That same evening: Thursday 21st April, Alice’s Wunderland – the radio pilot which was originally scheduled for Saturday 23rd April will air on BBC Radio 4. The Velvet Onion will bring you further news about this pilot in the coming days, so stay peeled.
This is good to hear! Oona and Crispin are to the root vegtable world what Posh and Becks are to the world of football and celebrity!
…but more so!
For anyone who doesn’t know what we’re on about, have a look at this brilliant short from Jackal Films last year: http://www.jackalfilms.co.uk/calendar2010/roots/
